Why we started this practice

Our founder spent fourteen years inside large organizations before starting Executive Initiative. She watched talented directors burn out because nobody helped them think differently about their role. That problem became our mission.

We are based in Laval, Quebec, and most of our clients lead teams of 15 to 500 people. Some run entire divisions. Others are stepping into their first VP position and feel the gap between managing tasks and shaping strategy.

Coaching with us is not motivational speaking. It is structured, confidential, and grounded in evidence. Each engagement runs between three and nine months, depending on the goals we set together in the first session. We track progress using concrete metrics: retention numbers, 360-degree feedback scores, time-to-decision on key projects.

Our approach draws on cognitive-behavioral frameworks and organizational psychology. We pair that with real operational experience so the advice you hear is advice that works on Monday morning, not just in a textbook.

What we offer

Six focused coaching programs designed for leaders at different stages. Pick the one that matches where you are right now.

Leadership transition coaching

For executives moving into a new role. We cover the first 90 days in detail: stakeholder mapping, quick wins, and the conversations you need to have before your second month. Typical engagement is four months with bi-weekly sessions.

Team dynamics and alignment

When your direct reports are capable individually but struggle to function as a unit, this program helps. We facilitate structured conversations, identify friction points, and create agreements about how the team will operate. Runs six to eight weeks.

Strategic thinking workshops

Half-day or full-day workshops for leadership teams who need to step back from operations and think about where the business is going. We use scenario planning, competitive analysis exercises, and priority-setting frameworks. Available on-site or virtually.

Personal performance coaching

One-on-one sessions focused on your individual effectiveness. We look at how you manage energy, how you communicate under pressure, and what habits are costing you time. Sessions are 75 minutes, typically every two weeks over three months.

High-potential development

Designed for organizations that want to prepare their next generation of leaders. We assess readiness, create individual development plans, and coach each participant through a six-month program. Ideal for groups of four to twelve people.

Board readiness coaching

Preparing to join a board of directors requires a different skill set than running a department. We coach on governance literacy, fiduciary responsibilities, and how to contribute meaningfully in a boardroom setting. Typically five to seven sessions.

How it works

Four clear steps from first conversation to measurable results.

1

Discovery call

A 30-minute conversation where we learn about your situation, your goals, and whether coaching is the right fit. No cost, no commitment.

2

Assessment

We use validated tools to understand your leadership style, strengths, and blind spots. This includes a 360-degree feedback survey when appropriate.

3

Coaching sessions

Regular sessions, either in person at our Laval office or by video call. Each session has an agenda, and you leave with specific actions to take before we meet again.

4

Review and close

At the end of the engagement, we measure progress against the goals we set in step one. You receive a summary report and a plan for continued growth on your own.

What our clients say

★★★★★
"I came in thinking I needed help with time management. What I actually needed was to stop doing my team's work for them. Three months of coaching changed how I delegate, and my direct reports are performing better because of it."

Frequently asked questions

How long does a typical coaching engagement last?

Most individual coaching programs run three to six months. Team engagements tend to be shorter, around six to eight weeks. The board readiness program is usually five to seven sessions spread over two to three months. We set the timeline together during the discovery call based on what you want to achieve.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. About half of our clients work with us entirely by video call. The other half prefer a mix of in-person meetings at our Laval office and virtual sessions. Both formats work well; the key is consistency and preparation, not the medium.

What is the cost?

Pricing depends on the program and number of participants. Individual coaching starts at $3,500 for a three-month engagement. Team programs and workshops are quoted after the discovery call, once we understand scope and group size. We are transparent about fees from the first conversation.

Is everything confidential?

Absolutely. What you share in coaching stays between you and your coach. If your organization is sponsoring the engagement, we agree in advance on what summary information the sponsor receives, and you approve it before anything is shared. This boundary is non-negotiable.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching works best when you have a specific challenge or transition you want to handle better. If you are open to honest feedback and willing to try different approaches between sessions, you will get results. The discovery call is free precisely so we can have that honest conversation before either of us commits.
